Yoga Nidra Meditation [Virtual]
with Yvonne Clark
Yoga Nidra is a state of being between sleep and consciousness that's conducive to deep emotional and physical healing, rewiring your brain and assisting with self-exploration. It is both deeply restorative and an immensely powerful meditation technique that is one of the easiest Yoga practices to develop and maintain. Even 20 minutes of yoga Nidra promotes deep physical, emotional and mental rest and relaxation, leaving you with a sense of wholeness that is as restful as several hours of sleep. Yoga Nidra is a practice that's easy to follow and everyone of all ages can do. The art of self-care is approached from a therapeutic standpoint, creating a restorative environment for the mind, releasing anxiety and nourishing and rejuvenating the individual. The stages of body scan and breath awareness guided by Yvonne calm the nervous system, leading to less stress and better health.
Winter Yin Yoga [Virtual]
with Kelly Frank
Winter leads itself to rest. Especially after a busy December, January is a perfect time to practice some new self-care techniques. Yin Yoga is purely for deep relaxation and restoration. Yin Yoga postures are all resting poses close to the ground, seated or lying down, held for 1 to 5 minutes. This length of time allows the muscles to release and the stretch to go deeper into the fascia, the body's connective tissues. Class will cleanse you energetically and leave you feeling so relaxed and calm for a good night’s sleep. The positive effects of yin yoga last into the following week. No amount of flexibility or experience needed. This will be a 60 min. class set to peaceful music. A pillow (or 2) and a blanket will be nice props to make this practice as comfortable as possible. If you have never tried yin yoga, you are in for a wonderful treat!
